Who I am, why I'm writing here, and what's coming next.

Heya, I’m Gillianne.

For three years I was a frontend developer at Accenture, building React, Next.js and React Native apps for health and public service platforms used by over 400,000 people. It taught me a lot: how to turn a designer’s Figma file into something real, how to write tests that actually catch things, and how to stay calm when something breaks in production.

But I’ve always had one foot somewhere else. Before I wrote code, I made things with my hands: lino prints, posters, stickers sold at art markets. At the end of 2025 I left my job to see what happens when I stop keeping those two worlds apart.

That became Milk Krate, my one-person creative technology studio. Since then I’ve:

built Memory Vault, a portable photobooth (enclosure and app) that has now run at 10 brand and community events, from 25 guests to 600

made Beau’s Move, an interactive installation for IN BETWEEN, a 3-day festival of 50 creatives, which logged 285 moves and sent people home with NFC keychains that open their own personal page

started BaaS, a little transit app for Singapore bus commuters, now in beta

And now I’m in Melbourne, to seek a new adventure.

Talk to you soon~
